A drawing of Gliddon's Drug Store in Elburn that hangs in the home of Ken and Mary Gustafson. Ken Gustafson retired late last year as a pharmacist at Jewel-Osco in Elburn. That ends a nearly 70-year stretch of the family providing pharmaceutical care in the village. His wife, Mary, also was a pharmacist, as was Mary's father, Almer Gliddon, who ran Gliddon's Drug Store in Elburn. Almer bought the store in 1946, and after he retired, Ken and Mary ran it until May of 2007, when Jewel-Osco bought them out. They then worked at Jewel until late last year.
